Great spot just off the Cabot trail, a quiet and wonderful setting! We enjoyed the beautiful view from the cottages and the fire pit. The beach just down the road was a spectacular spot to watch the sunset with water on both sides. Make sure to get oysters across the cove at the campground.

We stayed in cabin #3 and it was just perfect! The hosts were very nice, and our cabin was really cute and clean. My favorite part was sitting on our deck after hiking in the park all day. The view was surreal, to the west you can see the sun setting behind mountains. Then to the east, you can hear and see the waves of the North Atlantic. It doesn’t get better than that!

A lovely spot with 3 cabins available for rent. We were in cabin #1. All cabins have nice views over the water. Spent very little time there - as we were out hiking and exploring the beautiful outdoors! Would certainly consider coming back if traveling through again.

The scenery in the area is excellent - where mountains meet the ocean. In fact, South Harbour was our favorite area around the national park. In addition to a fantastic beach, just a 10 minute walk away (with scenic vistas, hiking and great swimming), there is a trail just down the road from the cabin (White Point hiking trail) that had spectacular views. The cabin is also excellently situated for hiking in the national park and is also close to a variety of descent restaurants (the Markland was our favorite - great chowder and crab cakes). The hosts were very friendly and made us feel welcome as they greeted us upon arrival. The cabin has everything you need and was very cozy. The air conditioning was much appreciated as we arrived during a heat wave. The views right from the deck are amazing and there is a screened in gazebo to avoid the bugs at dusk. There are 2 other cabins and a house in the compound but we felt a good sense of privacy. I would return here in a heartbeat.

We loved our stay here with our 6 yr. old so much! It was perfect for our adventures around the cabot trail. The location allowed us to explore each half of the trail and national park over our 2 night stay. We would have stayed longer if vacancy was available but grateful for the opportunity to enjoy this lovely cottage. Our days started and ended here with beautiful sunrises and sunsets and we couldn't have asked for more. Thanks for the great memories!

There is a beautiful view of the Highlands and the water. Cabin three has its own separate, screened in room, which gives some flexibility for the weary traveler that might need some space from inside the cabin and insects. Cedar smell in the cabin, makes you feel all cozy. It is just a short drive to the South Harbour Beach, which is really beautiful and definitely a must see! Additionally, this is in driving distance to Meat Cove, and a lobster truck that is rated number one out of the seven different lobster rolls my family tried on our East Coast trip!

As advertised, the #2 unit (standalone) had beautiful views of the backside of South Harbor Beach and bay, a short walk to the beach, and easy access to Dingwall and the Cabot Trail. There are two other units on the property but we never heard a peep. 5 star experience.

We had a great stay at cabins 2&3 and we loved it! Peter was very responsive and communicative! We loved using the screened in porch. The only difficulty was the size of the beds, my husband is 6’3” and we couldn’t both fit in the beds, so had to use the couch for a second bed. Hospitality 10/10

A cute "Cottage" with good amenities. Beautiful deck to watch the Ocean and sunsets from and a really nice screened in Gazebo for those "buggy" times. Conveniently located along the Cabot Trail we were easily able to drive (or walk) to a beautiful beach and access other excellent trails by car. A really enjoyable vacation in a nice and cozy AirBnB!

Everything about this place is amazing! We felt right at home immediately. The hosts are fantastic! They were happy to chat and give local recommendations and lobster recipes alike. We went to the harbor and picked up fresh lobster for dinner. By the time we got back to the cabin there was a lobster pot waiting for us! Super accommodating are responsive friendly hosts! The views from the screened in porch are incredible. I was able to see the sunset one night and the sunrise the next morning and have pictures to prove it! The cabin is comfortable and stocked well. We will stay at the cabin again. Next time longer!

We had an amazing stay South Harbour! The location was everything you can hope for: peace and quiet, nothing but the sounds of the birds; an amazing view; a screened in porch; and close beach access. This is a fairly rustic cottage, but we love that sort of thing. The kitchen was equipped well enough to cook full meals. All in all 10/10 recommend!!

This cozy cottage has a million dollar view. It was a perfect location for hikes in the national park. We also enjoyed paddle-boarding from the little dock on the property, a visit to the nearby beach, and a couple of dips in the local swimming hole. The property is very clean and well stocked with everything you would need for your stay. Jackie and Myles were super friendly and attentive. We’re already thinking of coming back again!

I am now a hero in our family for renting this beautiful cabin. I had shown them the picture's but none of us could believe what a great place this was. This clean little pine cottage with million dollar views is just as pictured. Perfect location, walking distance to a spectacular secluded beach; tiny bedrooms and eclectic decor with well-equipped kitchen and spacious screened-in porch.

We really enjoyed staying here! The views were spectacular and it was so peaceful. There was an easily accessible beach only about half a mile down the road. Wonderful place!.

Our contact person on site, Jackie was warm and friendly. She greeted us when we arrived and took care of any needs we had during our stay. While the house contained 2 bedrooms it was a little small for 4 adults, the screened-in porch was a welcomed add-on to the house. The view from cabin 1 was really beautiful and there was a nice beach very close by.

This is an absolutely amazing place—everything was clean and wonderful and the host was easy to get in touch with. The view is spectacular! We wished we could have stayed longer.

Great location with fantastic views. If you are splitting the Cabot Trail into two parts, this is a great location at the north side to split it. Or a great location from where to do day trips.

Jackie (owner) was super nice and always made sure we had everything. She gave us recommendations for things to do. Also, Peter had info in the cottage of things to do. Most important about this cottage, this is the absolute perfect location if you’re interested in all the various hikes in the Cape Breton Highland National Park. Most of the hikes were relatively close. The only thing on the wish list would be a Queen sized bed. In summary, I highly recommend this cottage!

This place is simply wonderful. Great proximity to explore all the beautiful scenery thatCape Breton has to offer. Close to all the wonderful trails , waterfalls , beaches and secluded hideaways. This cabin is right on the edge of the coast by the sea, and you can't beat the view here. The sunsets and sunrises were absolutely beautiful, and the night sky at night is stunning. The stars were so bright and clear; I've never seen a night sky that clear and beautiful before, and there were so many constellations that were clearly identifiable. I wish my friends and I hadn't packed our schedule so full so we could've had a fire in the fire pit (there was plenty of firewood available, and there were matches inside the cabin), sitting outside drinking hot chocolate, and just enjoying the view. It really made me wish that we'd booked another day at this airbnb so that we could have done that. The cabin itself is very cute and cozy. It seemed very new, and had a pleasant pine smell inside. I have to warn you though: there are a lot of wood bugs here. It's very normal for a wooden cabin in a rural area like this (it can't be avoided and is not a cleanliness issue - this is just how it is in nature), but it's something city folks might want to keep in mind so that it's a shock. I'd also recommend bringing mosquito repellent as there are quite a lot of those buggers. Peter was very prompt and helpful, and Myles was very kind and welcoming.

What a lovely cabin and stunning view! It’s right alongside the waters (lake AND ocean) but is not humid inside. AC works strong and the washroom and shower is clean and neat. It was the perfect place for us for a week stay. Peter took great care of us - was very helpful, going above and beyond. The cabin also features his beautiful handmade table. The place was small but completely functional (we were in cabin #1). The wifi was handy to have. It was such a treat to walk down to the dock immediately below our cabin to watch the most spectacular sunrises I've ever seen. If/when we come back to Cape Breton Island, this is definitely where we'd stay.

We looked at many places in diff areas of Cape Breton online (& drove by most of them when travelling the Cabot Trail) Each time we looked at each other & exclaimed how grateful we were to have landed at the magical 'Little Brook' cottage. The view is spectacular from right inside the cabin- so even on the occasional bad weather day you can soothe your soul with that mesmerizing view of the mountains, ocean, harbour - & incredible skies- best sunrise ever! Close to many great trails & lovely beach to enjoy just a short jaunt down the road. Basic groceries, gas, & a few restaurants conveniently located in the area. We watched a sunset for an hour here! It was astounding. We were grateful to have a place that was so close to all the spots we wanted to see. It was very cozy and Peter was extremely communicative and accommodating. We cooked a few meals, swam of the dock and delighted in the surroundings.

Just had a short 2 day stay at Peter’s cabin. The location was excellent and the view from the cabin was splendid. Be sure to check out Theodore Fricker ( formerly Tenerife) hike. Grueling but well worth it. We also enjoyed the drive to Meat cove. Highly recommend Peter’s place. His communication was excellent.

Our stay at Little Brook cottage was excellent. Beautiful quiet location with a view of the mountains on the north side of the bay & the ocean breaking on the beach to the east. Do yourself a favour and hike out to this quiet beach. You'll find a trail down the road. Peter was very helpful and guided us in any questions we had. The cottage is clean & quaint. All essentials for cooking are there. The front screened in porch was handy and used often to avoid the inevitable dusk time mosquitos. Good location to explore northern Cape Breton sites. Short pretty coastal drive to the Chowder House in Neil's Harbour. A gem of a place to stay.

South Harbour is breathtaking. The view from Peter's place is spectacular!!! 2 min. drive to one of the top beaches on the Island. All you hear are the birds and the sound of the waves..... perfect place to watch the sunset, have a fire and see the stars. The cottage is charming and has all you need, perfect spot to launch your kayak or canoe, so much to do and see, or do nothing, perfect for that too. Also, check out Danena's bakery!!!! best hot Cappuccino, blueberry scones and cinnamon rolls, menu looked interesting.

We had such a great stay! Peter was a great host and was so easy to communicate with. The views are unbeatable. The place is very clean and the cottage is super cute . We got to enjoy dinner out on the repurposed table, a swim in the local swimming hole, and an amazing beach day at the gorgeous south harbour beach! We followed it up by playing games on the front deck in the evening. Perfect vacation. We will definitely be back!

“Top notch customer service from Peter! He went above and beyond for us when we had car problems mid trip. The cottage was extremely clean and stocked with supplies. Easy to see signage from the road and the communication with Peter was clear and easy. There is a gas station close and the location is pretty central to tons of hikes and swimming spots. BEAUTIFUL sunsets. My family and I were extremely comfortable here and would 100% recommend this cottage!”

“Thanks Peter for a great weekend in Cape Breton. It was the perfect location for all our hiking adventures. Peter was very quick to respond to texts. We arrived really late on our first night, as we had a long drive, but that did not matter to Peter and he met us upon arrival. We are so glad we found your cottage, it was more than perfect and exactly what we envisioned for our nights stay on the trail! Almost disappointed the forecast changed a bit and probably won't rain too bad, or we would have gladly stayed another night. The fire pit overlooking the water was a perfct reminder of our life back home at the cottage and the trillion stars in the clear sky was a true bonus, you surely can't beat this view. Thank you for taking us in at the last minute, you definitely lived up to the generosity of the east coast we love back home.

Can't wait to return, all for now,the second half of the amazing Cabot Trail awaits us!!

“This little cottage is the perfect home base for the Cape North area. We explored Meat Cove and White Point both recommended by Peter who was full of great suggestions of what to do in the area. We were so happy to find this place on our drive around the Cabot Trail! The view was incredible and the cottage so warm and cozy. The cottage was equipped with everything we could possibly need including a screen room so we able to enjoy the outside and the view without the pesky bugs. The house had absolutely everything you need to cook and to be comfortable. AC, Wi Fi, even a screened deck to keep the bugs away. What a great place. I’m glad we ended with some great weather. This view at the cabin is probably one of the best on the island. Also that beach near us was probably the best beach on the island. We just about had it to ourselves this afternoon.
